The restoration works of the rainwater drainage system and the waterproofing of the ceiling of the Hypostyle Hall executed in the Nature Square are coming to their final phase.
With the imminent covering of the domes, the unique opportunity of seeing this innovative project designed by Gaudí will have finished.
The Nature Square will be completely opened once the domes have been covered and the sand has been spread on the surface. That way, it will be possible again to fully enjoy the amazing views over the city from the emblematic wavy bench decorated with trencadís.
These improvements are framed within the Works Plan for Architectural and Natural Heritage and the Area Surrounding Park Güell, after being commissioned by the Government Committee of the Barcelona City Council. Concretely, the green light was given to 10 projects, which comprise part of those managed by B:SM and commissioned by the City Council within the framework of regulating entry to the grounds, and driven forward jointly with the Ecology, City Planning and Mobility Division, and the districts of Gràcia and Horta-Guinardó. The global package has total funds of 10.6 million euros.
