Is there any specific programme for schools?
Yes, there is the "Park Güell and schools” programme, which will give schools from European Union member countries a chance to visit the monumental zone on the following terms:
1) Visit with guide service and car park reservation at a price of € 62/group (VAT included). 30 people maximum per each group. The conditions regulating the programme must be met.
2) Free visit (free entry, not guided and without any coach reservation).
It is necessary to book in advance in both cases. Interested schools should contact the Commercial Department of Park Güell at: email@example.com
What rights do official guides have?
Park Güell is a cultural asset of national interest, which means that, in order to act as a guide under the Catalonia Tourism Act, the guide must be in possession of a tourist guide qualification issued by the Government of Catalonia (the Generalitat). Section 65.1 of the Catalonia Tourism Act lays down that anyone can act as a tourist guide activity, except inside monuments declared to be cultural assets of national interest and museums registered in the Catalonia Museum Registry. Any persons not accredited as official guides who are detected carrying out such functions will be required to cease doing so.
Official guides accredited by the Government of Catalonia who are accompanying groups have a free ticket as long as they can prove their status at the ticket offices in the Park. Reservations can be made for up to three free tickets for group guides.
Is there a coach park for tourist coaches?
Coaches for groups visiting the Monumental Zone can reserve a parking place when they purchase their tickets, which will give them the right to an hour and a half’s parking in the Zona Bus coach park.
If the coach park is not full, any coach can use it by paying € 6 (for an hour and a half’s parking).
If the coach park is full, coaches can pick up their passengers and let them alight. We would advise them to then go to the Zone Blava (blue zone) for coaches located at number 76 on Carrer de les Camèlies (consult the Zona Bus map here).
